Subi vs Skio

Skio sells one plan, priced for brands already doing serious subscription volume. Subi has an entry point. Which is right depends less on features than on where your store is today.

The short version

Skio publishes a single Scale plan at $599/mo billed monthly, or $499/mo if you commit annually, plus 1% + 20c per subscription order.

Subi starts at $29/mo and steps up as your volume does, to $479/mo at the top of the published ladder.

Skio does not state a free trial on its pricing page. We give 7 days plus a 3-month money-back guarantee.

The honest framing: Skio is priced for brands who have already proven the model. If that is you, the gap narrows. If it is not, you would be paying a floor you have not grown into.

What you would actually pay

Monthly cost at different volumes of subscription revenue processed. Subi figures from our own billing configuration; Skio figures from their public pricing page, using the $599 monthly-billed rate. Their 20c per-order fee is not included, so their real figure is a little higher than shown. Both checked 12 August 2026.

Monthly subscription revenueSubi (best-fit plan)Skio (Scale)
$5,000$109 on Starter$649
$15,000$239 on Subi$749
$50,000$519 on Subi$1,099
$100,000$879 on Subi Plus$1,599

Committing to annual billing brings Skio's monthly fee to $499, which lowers each figure above by $100. The shape does not change: a single high floor against a ladder that starts low.

Where Skio is the better choice

We would rather you pick correctly than pick us.

  • You are already at high subscription volume and want everything in one tier with nothing gated behind an upgrade. Skio's pitch is that the Scale plan is the whole product, and for a brand at that size it is a coherent one.
  • You want a vendor whose entire book is enterprise-shaped subscription brands, and you value that focus over a broader merchant base.
  • You have unusual requirements and want custom development as part of the relationship, that is what their Enterprise tier is for.

Where Subi is the better choice

  • You are not yet at the volume where a $499 to $599 floor makes sense, and you would rather your subscription app cost scale with your subscription revenue.
  • You want to try before you commit. Skio's pricing page states no free trial; ours is 7 days with a 3-month money-back guarantee behind it.
  • You want subscriptions, memberships and bundles from one app without an enterprise contract conversation to get started.

If you do decide to move

Subscription migration is not a CSV import. Existing contracts have to keep billing on their own schedules, with their own discounts, without asking your customers to re-enter anything.

1

Talk to us first with your numbers. We will tell you which plan fits and what it will cost.

2

We map your existing plans, discounts and billing dates before anything moves.

3

Contracts transfer with their schedules intact, subscribers do not re-subscribe and do not re-enter payment details.

4

We stay on it through the first billing cycle, which is the one where problems actually surface.

Questions merchants ask

Will my subscribers have to sign up again?

No. Contracts move with their existing billing dates and discounts. Asking subscribers to re-enter payment details is how a migration loses customers, so the process is built to avoid it.

Is Subi cheaper than Skio?

At every volume in the table above, yes, and by a wide margin at the lower end: Skio's published floor is $499 to $599 a month before any transaction fee. In absolute dollars the difference stays large across the whole range we checked, between about $500 and $720 a month. As a share of the bill it narrows as you grow, because their single tier stops climbing while our rate steps down to 0.40%.

Does Skio offer a free trial?

Their pricing page does not state one as of 12 August 2026. We would rather you check that yourself than take our word for it, pricing pages change.
