Comparison

Subi vs Loop

Loop and Subi are close on philosophy, both flat, both month-to-month, both without the per-order fees that make the incumbent expensive. The difference is where the rate sits as you grow.

The short version

Both are month to month. Neither locks you into a year.

Loop starts at $99/mo + 1.0%. Subi starts at $29/mo + 1.60%, and our $119 plan drops to 0.80%.

Loop's free tier covers up to 50 active subscriptions with no time limit. Ours is for development stores. If you are pre-launch and want to build for free indefinitely, that is a genuine point for Loop.

Loop gives 14 days to trial; we give 7 plus a 3-month money-back guarantee.

At every order volume we compared below, Subi came out cheaper on the plan that fits.

What you would actually pay

Monthly cost at different volumes of subscription revenue processed, each on the plan that fits that volume. Subi figures from our own billing configuration; Loop figures from their public pricing page. Both checked 12 August 2026.

Monthly subscription revenueSubi (best-fit plan)Loop (best-fit plan)
$5,000$109 on Starter$149 on Starter
$15,000$239 on Subi$249 on Starter
$50,000$519 on Subi$599 on Starter
$100,000$879 on Subi Plus$1,099 on Starter

Neither app charges a per-order fee, so these are the whole bill. Loop stays on its Starter plan across this whole range, because their own step up to Pro does not pay off until about $120,000 a month. There is a point around $11,000 a month where the two of us cost within a few dollars of each other, right where our own plan steps up from Starter to Subi. Below and above that the gap opens, and it keeps opening as our rate steps down from 1.60% to 0.80% and again to 0.40%, while Loop's Starter rate holds at 1.0%.

Where Loop is the better choice

We would rather you pick correctly than pick us.

  • You are pre-launch or very small and want to stay free indefinitely. Loop's free tier runs to 50 active subscriptions with no clock on it; ours is limited to development stores.
  • You want longer to evaluate before paying. 14 days beats our 7, even with the money-back guarantee behind it.
  • You have already built around Loop and it is working. Migration is real work and inertia is a legitimate answer.

Where Subi is the better choice

  • You are past the free tier and the monthly bill starts to matter, $29 to begin against $99.
  • Your subscription revenue is growing. Our rate steps down to 0.40%; theirs stops at 0.75%, and on a six-figure month that difference is most of a salary.
  • You want subscriptions, memberships and bundles from one app rather than assembling them.

If you do decide to move

Subscription migration is not a CSV import. Existing contracts have to keep billing on their own schedules, with their own discounts, without asking your customers to re-enter anything.

Talk to us first with your numbers. We will tell you which plan fits and what it will cost.

2

We map your existing plans, discounts and billing dates before anything moves.

3

Contracts transfer with their schedules intact, subscribers do not re-subscribe and do not re-enter payment details.

4

We stay on it through the first billing cycle, which is the one where problems actually surface.

Questions merchants ask

Will my subscribers have to sign up again?

No. Contracts move with their existing billing dates and discounts. Asking subscribers to re-enter payment details is how a migration loses customers, so the process is built to avoid it.

Is Subi cheaper than Loop?

At every volume in the table above, on the plan that fits, yes, though the size of the difference is not a straight line. Around $11,000 a month the two of us cost within a few dollars of each other, because that is where our own plan steps from Starter up to Subi. Past that the gap opens as our rate keeps stepping down: by $100,000 a month it is about $220 every month.

Are either of you charging per-order fees?

No. Neither Subi nor Loop charges a flat fee per order. That is a real difference from the older incumbents, and it is worth checking on any app you compare.
