New: Retry now charges a failed payment once, even when smart recovery is paused
If you paused smart recovery so you can collect failed payments yourself, Retry now no longer refuses you. At a shop with smart recovery paused, a Retry now press now charges the subscriber once.
It is a one-off charge. If the charge is declined, Subi records the decline and nothing follows it. If it succeeds, the recovery is resolved like any other.
Before it charges, the confirm tells you what a press will do. On a contract page and on a row in Payment recovery, the confirm now shows a notice that this is a one-off charge, and it names the date of the next renewal when Shopify has one, because that renewal will still charge on its date.
Bulk Retry now at a paused shop now asks first. The confirm shows how many subscriptions will be charged once each, and the press runs only when you confirm.
When Shopify refuses a charge for a known reason, such as the charge being too early, under review or throttled, the message now says so. Other refusals still get the general message.
Shops that have not paused smart recovery are unaffected: Retry now works there as before.
