Fixed: switching a subscription's frequency now updates its plan name everywhere

Billing & PaymentsSubscriptions & Plans

A subscriber who used Change frequency to switch, for example, from a monthly plan to one that bills every two months, saw their subscription and its renewal orders keep saying "Monthly" instead of naming the plan they had actually switched to. One subscriber put it plainly: "I switched to every two months, but my subscription and orders still say Monthly."

A Change frequency switch now sends the new selling plan's name along with the switch, so the subscription line, its renewal orders, and the mirror of that line in Shopify's own order view all name the plan the subscription actually bills on after the change, not the one it started on. The fix applies to a subscription from the moment a subscriber switches on it.

Up to 442 shops run at least one Change frequency offer, and 31 lines across 9 shops were already showing another plan's name before this fix landed. Nothing about pricing, billing cadence, or what a subscriber is charged changes anywhere in the flow: only the displayed plan name now matches what the subscription actually bills on, everywhere that name is shown.
