Shopify is moving merchants from delivery profiles to Markets for shipping configuration, and shops that have made the switch used to get empty or unhelpful shipping suggestions when creating a subscription by hand. Create subscription's shipping-rate picker now reads directly from the Markets API for these shops, matched to the customer's own country.

Every rate in the picker now shows the market or delivery zone it belongs to, for example "International Shipping · International", so you can tell apart rates that would otherwise share a name. When a rate is one tier of a weight- or value-based option, the tier's bounds show too, so you can see exactly which weight or order value range you're picking for a customer. This labeling applies to shops still on legacy delivery profiles as well, not only market-driven ones.

Subi also now requests the read_markets permission from Shopify, which is one of two conditions behind Shopify's own "not compatible with market-driven shipping" install warning. This takes effect the next time your app authorization refreshes; until then, market-driven shipping suggestions stay empty. The rate saved on the subscription itself is unchanged: still just the rate's name and price.
