Recovery, at a glance

RetentionAnalytics
Smart Recovery analytics — see your recovery at a glance

Smart Recovery has been recovering failed subscription payments since May. Now you can measure exactly what it is recovering.

A five-metric overview strip sits at the top of the Payment Recovery page for every merchant running Smart Recovery. Without opening a report, you can see your recovered revenue, recovery rate, subscriptions saved, at-risk MRR, and reminder engagement — each with a directional trend indicator against the prior period, and a direct link into the corresponding full analytics report.

What each metric shows

  • Recovered revenue — the total billing value recaptured through the Smart Recovery sequence.
  • Recovery rate — the share of resolved sequences that ended in a successful payment.
  • Subscriptions saved — the count of contracts that came back from a failed-payment state.
  • At-risk MRR — the recurring revenue currently inside an active recovery sequence.
  • Reminder engagement — open and click rates on the dunning email cadence. This is the first time Subi tracks email engagement for recovery notifications, so the trend will build over time.

Under the hood

The overview strip calls a single backend endpoint (GET /dunning/recovery-summary) that returns all five metrics in one request. The warehouse time window was tightened in the same release (subify-backend!2171) so the figures cover exactly the period the label describes — no more off-by-a-day approximations.

The strip adapts to the narrower embedded Shopify admin iframe using CSS container queries, so it stays on one row whether you open Subi in a full tab or from the Shopify admin sidebar.

Who sees it? Every merchant with Smart Payment Recovery active. The overview strip is part of the recovery_rate_uplift feature set and requires Subi's analytics capability, included in standard and Subi+ plans.
