Smart Recovery — recovered billing orders setting now honoured
Smart Payment Recovery now respects the Recovered billing orders preference that merchants set under Payment recovery settings.
What was happening. The Recovered billing orders setting controls what happens to a successfully recovered subscription order: either keep the original billing date (so the next order falls on the same cadence as before the failed payment) or reschedule it from the recovery date. This setting has always existed on the legacy retry path. When a shop switched to Smart Recovery, the smart path was ignoring it entirely — every recovered order was created at the time of recovery, regardless of what the setting said.
At the same time, the setting's UI card was not appearing at all in Smart Recovery mode. The admin page branched on recovery mode, and the Recovered billing orders card only rendered in the legacy branch — so merchants who switched to Smart Recovery could not even see or change the setting.
Both problems are fixed. The setting card is now displayed in Smart Recovery mode, and the smart retry engine reads it correctly when creating recovered orders.
If you use Smart Recovery and care about subscription billing cadence, review your Recovered billing orders setting under Payment recovery in the Subi admin to confirm it matches your preference.
