Upgrade to Smart Recovery

Smart Payment Recovery — Subi's billing-retry engine that handles failed subscription payments with a recovery sequence, a dunning email cadence, and subscriber-facing recovery options — is now the recommended path for every store on Subi.
If your store was set up before Smart Recovery became the default and you haven't switched yet, Subi now prompts you directly inside your admin. A migration announcement banner appears on the Home page and the Payment recovery settings page. The banner explains what Smart Recovery is and offers two choices:
- Migrate now — switches your store to Smart Recovery immediately. The migration is routing-only: it changes which recovery engine handles your billing retries, but does not move any subscription billing dates.
- Opt out — records that you prefer to stay on the legacy path for now. The banner won't reappear after you opt out.
If neither option is chosen before the campaign window closes, Subi completes the migration automatically at the end of the month — so every store ends up on the same, better-supported path.
Why the migration matters: The legacy retry system runs a fixed, one-size-fits-all retry schedule. Smart Recovery classifies each decline and applies a recovery window tuned to the decline type, giving each failed payment the best available path to recovery before a contract lapses. Merchants already on Smart Recovery benefit from this automatically; this migration brings the same path to stores still running the older system.
To migrate now, look for the banner on your Home page or go to Settings → Payment recovery.
