Offer a frequency change instead of cancellation

The cancellation flow can now offer eligible customers a one-step switch to a different delivery frequency instead of cancelling.

When a customer starts to cancel, you can now offer them the option to switch to a different delivery frequency instead of losing them.

Add the new Change frequency treatment to your cancellation flow (Retention → Cancellation flow → add a Treatment → Change frequency). Eligible customers see the available delivery cycles — with the price for each cycle and any discount — and switch in one step instead of cancelling. It works on both the Shopify customer account page and the customer portal.

Good to know

  • The offer shows only when a subscription has a single product with more than one selling plan, and it isn't available for prepaid subscriptions.
  • We recommend pairing it with another treatment (like a discount or a skip) so every customer sees an alternative.
