Build a Box — let customers build their own subscription box

Subi's new Build a Box plan type lets customers assemble their own subscription box on your storefront, with per-option discounts and product pools by collection or your whole catalog.

Subi now has a Build a Box plan type — a subscription where your customers assemble their own box from a pool of products you choose, right on your storefront. It's perfect for snack boxes, beauty boxes, coffee samplers, and any "pick-your-own" subscription where shoppers want to curate what arrives.

Set up a box

Create a Build a Box plan alongside your other plans in the bundles list, and edit or delete it like any plan. For each box you define the product pool customers choose from — pick individual products, a whole collection, or your entire catalog. You set per-option discounts, so a box can be priced as a saving over buying the items one by one, and Subi calculates each box's price from the items the customer selects. A setup-guide banner on the edit page walks you through getting a new box live.

How customers build it

On your product page, the Build a Box widget lets customers add and remove items until their box is complete. It shows the running discount, marks out-of-stock items as Unavailable so customers only pick what they can actually get, and adapts its look to your theme — colors, border radius, and a progress bar — with a responsive layout that works on desktop and mobile. The widget reads as a normal subscription, so it fits naturally beside your existing Subscribe & Save options.

In the contracts list and portal

Build a Box subscriptions appear in your contracts list with their own type, so you can find and manage them. Each box's chosen items and per-option discounts carry through to the contract, and the box contents are reflected in the customer portal — keeping the curated box consistent from checkout through every renewal.
